Bankruptcy

My firm represents individuals and commercial clients in bankruptcy proceedings that are initiated by either an insolvent individual, or business, or creditors seeking to have the debtor's remaining assets distributed among the creditors and, thereby, discharging the debtor from further obligation or restructuring and reorganizing the insolvent's debt structure. I represent individuals and businesses in Chapters 7, 11, 12 & 13.

I represent and advise clients who are or might become involved in a lawsuit as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as personal injury and real estate law, contract disputes, and commercial matters.

Workers' Compensation

I represent employees who are injured on the job in claims for lost wages and medical treatment expenses against private industry, state and local government employers and their workers' compensation insurers. I will help you prepare for your hearing and represent you before the appropriate administrative body.

Social Security Law

Applying for Social Security Disability can be a confusing and complicated experience for many people. I can help you cut through the red tape to obtain the benefits you worked for and deserve. As your representative, I will provide you with an evaluation of your claim, process all paperwork and applications, obtain medical documentation and reports, prepare you for the hearing, and represent you at the hearing.

Contract Disputes

When things go wrong, you may have to argue your case to a judge or jury. I have the experience to understand the nuances of language and apply them to my clients' advantage. I handle a variety of matters, including commercial contracts, construction, real estate, and consumer law and have dealt with cases seeking damages and performance.

Simple Wills and Trusts

A will is a person's declaration of how one wants his or her property dispersed after death. Because there are complex regulations regarding the validity of any will, it is important to hire an attorney with knowledge and experience. In order to establish a secure and regular income for loved ones left behind, many clients seek advice on Trust establishment. By maintaining your assets in a Trust, you can minimize taxes and leave a larger inheritance. The use of a Trust is also a way to provide a steady income to the Beneficiary over the course of time, rather than distribution in a lump sum. This strategy can reduce the Beneficiary's tax and allow the Trust to grow through investment. Be sure to hire an attorney who continually seeks out changes in the rules to be sure your wishes can be honored after your death.

Debtor / Creditor

When collection is a necessity, turning to an experienced attorney can speed up the process. The collection process is driven by a maze of statutes and procedures that are confusing to both debtor and creditor. Sometimes a skilled negotiator can help the parties reach an agreement, eliminating the need for a burdensome legal collection. I have led pre and post judgment collection proceedings.

I have intimate knowledge of the federal and state laws designed to protect consumers and have on many occasions helped clients with pre-litigation case review and enforcement litigation.

I provide a wide variety of services to my business clients: assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations, to dissolution, etc. I also work with commercial clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings for small businesses.

Real Estate

My firm represents both commercial clients and individuals in matters that deal with real property - land and the structures attached to it - including liability coverage for witness signings in the state of Georgia for transactions up to $2 million, and Florida cases such as boundary disputes and condemnations.

Construction Law

I represent owners, contractors, construction managers, developers, design professionals, and suppliers in all aspects of the construction process, including bidding and document preparation, contract negotiation and formation, contract performance, financing and warranty issues, mechanics and material men liens, and claims and dispute resolution.
